15th Night’s Annual Back to School BBQ

The Back to School BBQ is the 15th Night Youth Action Council’s biggest event of the year and provides youth with a fun opportunity to reconnect to school and prepare for the upcoming year. The 2023 BBQ is just around the corner and we are so excited to be hosting our event at Willamalane Park in Springfield on August 24th! Continue reading to learn more about the event and how you can help us make this year’s BBQ the best yet!

The Youth Action Council has been busy serving up delicious food and building relationships with youth in the community at Burrito Friday and Our Neighborhood events this summer. During these events they are sharing resources and encouraging youth to engage in services. These summer outreach efforts lead up to our Back to School BBQ on August 24th, where our goal is to help youth reconnect to school and prepare for the upcoming year. The way we see it, if we can keep youth connected to their school communities and remove barriers to them accessing the services and resources that they need to thrive, we can start to reduce the number of young people who are ending up on to the streets.

The Back to School BBQ is a big lift for the Youth Action Council and the 15th Night crew and we couldn’t pull off this event without the help of our amazing community. Additionally, below is a list of items that we need for raffle prizes, because nothing brings kids to an event like the opportunity to win a skateboard.
