Resource Guide for Youth by Youth
April 15, 2021
We are so excited to share with you the 15th Night Youth Resource Guide, created by our Youth Action Council (YAC). 15th Night has never been a service provider. Instead, what we do is find innovative ways to connect youth to services and resources in our community that already exist. When 15th Night first started we knew that our community was filled with resources for youth in need, and we also knew that many of those youth weren’t accessing those resources, but we didn’t understand why. Like we do whenever we are trying to answer a question regarding youth, we went to the YAC.
One of the things the YAC shared with us is that they also knew that our community was filled with resources, they just weren’t sure what and where those resources were. They told us that figuring out which organization offered which services could be complicated and frustrating, which may deter a youth from trying to access services at all. There needed to be a “one stop shop” for all the resources in our community that serve youth in need. The YAC was connected to a drafted resource guide put together by DevNW that they used to build the Resource Guide For Youth By Youth that we are so excited to share with you today!
The 15th Night Resource Guide was a huge lift for the YAC and 15th Night, and we are so excited to share it with the community. It includes all kinds of resources for young people; from emergency shelter, to job application assistance, reconnection to school, or where to find a meal on Fridays at 4pm, this resource guide covers it all.
Please share this resource with your networks and with any youth looking for resources in our community. Thank you to all of the amazing community partners who are out there providing our youth with the resources they need!
